Ladders & Steps Inspection Training Course
This course is the ladder inspection course accredited by The Ladder Association .It qualifies delegates to act as a competent person in respect of ladder and stepladder inspections, and approve ladders and stepladders for use. It is a pre-entry requirement for this course that delegates have already passed the Ladder Association Safe Use of Ladders and Steps course.
Description
Who is the course for:
Anyone who has previously passed the Safe Use of Ladders and Steps course who needs to be able to inspect ladders and sign them off for use.
Course content includes:
- Accurate recording of details of ladders and steps
- Identification of component parts using industry naming conventions
- Inspection of ladders, stepladders and identification of safety critical faults
- Recording of findings in accordance with the statutory requirements (as outlined in PUWER ACOPs 163)
- Recommending of action to be taken if faults are found.
- Legislation and regulations affecting work at height
- Product standards and classifications for ladders & stepladders
- The relevant legislation and guidance and approved code of practice (ACOPs)
- Governing the inspection of ladders and stepladders
- The difference between pre-use and formal inspections
- Common manufacturing processes used, and their implications for the cost-effectiveness of repairs
- The difference between maintenance and repairs and who is allowed to do them
- The correct methods of disposal of equipment at the end of it’s working life
Completion of the course:
Successful delegates will receive the Ladder Association Ladder Inspection certificate and photo ID card.
