Pre-course Requirements

CSCS affiliated NPORS Trained Operators licence - Delegates must have passed the appropriate HS&E test within the last two years prior to completing this course if they wish to obtain the CSCS affiliated Trained Operators licence

NPORS traditional licence – No pre requisites required

Course Structure

  • Operate the machine to the relevant standard (depending on level applied for)
  • Fit and operate ancillary equipment
  • Site the machine safely and efficiently
  • Know which minor adjustments and routine servicing procedures are necessary, and be able to carry them out
  • Prepare the machine for travelling on the public highway
  • Understand the capabilities, purposes and limitations of each machine
  • Apply all necessary safety precautions
  • Understand how diesel engines work and how various parts of the machine operate.

Course Completion

Successful candidates will receive a the appropriate NPORS licence card requested.

More Information

A slinger Signaller will be the designated individual who will be working alongside the machine operator responsible for lifting loads, for example a crane operator. A Slinger Signaller is responsible for attaching and detaching the load and will be direct its operation and movement. A Slinger Signaller will use hand signals and/or radio links to communicate with the machine operator in order to direct them and ensure that the load is moved safely on site.
