Description
Course Aims and Objectives:
The aim of this unit is to follow the national occupational standard required for directing emergency rescue and recovery of casualties from a confined space.
The qualification is applicable for both water and non-water and will include the direction of the rescue and recovery of team undertaking extraction of casualties from the confined space, including all emergency procedures. .
Course Content:
- Plan and prepare emergency teams and all associated operations
- Initiate rescue teams and control processes for entry and exit into the confined space
- Maintain standards and monitor procedures for the rescue team members
- Understand the principles of the rescue team leader and all associated duties, including equipment, documentation, and following the required legislation.

- As a Responsible Person for the delegate/s, you agree that the delegates mentioned above are fit and well to take this training.

- Please attach an official purchase order confirmation (if this is a requirement of your Company) with this form.
- Personal protective equipment required such as hard hat, protective gloves, Hi Vis and safety footwear are required, please ensure you bring this PPE with you and dress accordingly. Delegates using breathing apparatus are required TO BE CLEAN SHAVEN – please advise us immediately of any issues.
- Please be advised due to Covid 19 and in order to keep our delegates and staff as safe as possible we no longer offer any lunch, please therefore ensure that you bring your own. There is a Tesco Express located 5 minute walk from the Training Centre.
- Please arrive at 09:00 hrs for registration, with commencement of the course at 09:15 hrs, and an approximate finish time of 16:00 hrs.
- If you are attending a requalification for a City & Guilds re-certification then no training is provided and delegates are only to attend to complete the written and practical examinations.

Pre requisites
C&G 6160-03 High Risk (Entrant) & C&G 6160-08 Working As A Rescue Member qualifications must be held prior to attending this course.
Proof of the qualifications must be provided prior to attendance. Failure to provide will result in candidates being refused entry onto the course and charges will still apply.
