Course Aim: The aim of this unit is to reflect the national occupational standard for managers that are responsible for organising planning and managing work in confined spaces.
Description
Learners will be expected to complete a portfolio of evidence based on planning and managing work arrangements at high risk confined spaces. These will be assessed by the centre and quality assured by City & Guilds.
Course Introduction:
This unit is for managers that are responsible for organising planning and managing work in confined spaces. The manager may or may not supervise the actual job. It involves managing the work of others in, or at confined spaces; reviewing legal requirements; ensuring safety compliance; preparing procedures and appropriate documentation; and making suitable arrangements for dealing with emergencies.
There is a pre-requisite for this course
Delegate must have completed and hold one of the below qualifications prior to commencing the qualification:-
• NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
• NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
• City & Guilds Level 6 Occupational Health and Safety
• NCRQ Level 6 Certificate in Applied Health and Safety
• NVQ Level 5 or Level 6 in Occupational Health and Safety Practice

Site Supervisor Safety Training Certificate
Evidence must be provided to the centre before enrolling on the course .
Delegates must have a good understanding of the English language.
Joining Instructions
It is expected that learners will spend 28 hours in the classroom/workplace and at least 19 hours on their portfolio production.
Candidates will be required to bring suitable hard hats, safety footwear, work gloves, high visibility vest if working on or close to a site or training area.
Note: The learner will not enter the confined space but may visit the entrance to site
