Covers entry controller responsible for carrying out safety checks , use of equipment, communication and following all procedures including dealing with emergencies.
Description
Course Aims and Objectives:
The aim of this unit is to follow the national occupational standard required for controlling entries and arrangements for procedures including entering, working in and exiting of the confined space.
The qualification is applicable for both water and non-water and may include tasks for control of teams working in sewer treatment processes, tunnelling, drainage and sewer systems, or where a confined space is subject to the specified risks.
Course Content:
- Communicate and implementation of procedures for teams carrying out the task
- Control Safe entry and exit into the confined space
- Monitor the working party and ensure that procedures are adhered to
- If an emergency arises to control all aspects
- Be compliant and have an understanding of health and safety protocols and legislation
- Be confident with the processes and procedures expected for the role of entry controller
- Ensure all necessary equipment is safe and suitable and has been checked and tested

- Please provide all the necessary information which is required for City & Guilds & CITB if applicable
- Personal protective equipment (applicable for confined space courses) such as hard hat, protective gloves, overalls, Hi Vis and safety footwear are required, together with suitable clothing for climbing through confined spaces during the practical exercises, please ensure you bring this PPE with you and dress accordingly. – please advise us immediately of any issues.
- Please be advised due to Covid 19 and in order to keep our delegates and staff as safe as possible we no longer offer any lunch, please therefore ensure that you bring your own.
- Please arrive at 09:00 hrs for registration, with commencement of the course at 09:15 hrs, and an approximate finish time of 16:00 hrs.
- If you are attending a requalification for a City & Guilds re-certification then no training is provided and delegates are only to attend to complete the written and practical examinations.
