CITB - Site Supervision Safety Training

The Site Supervisor's Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) course is the most recognised training course for site supervisors. It is accredited by the CITB, and covers all aspects of health and safety on site.

Course Aims:

 

To help supervisors to :

  • Supervise health and safety on site in accordance with current legislation provisions and within the context of their role.
  • Develop an understanding of responsibility and accountability for site health, safety and welfare of workers on site.
  • Recognise that a safe site is efficient, economical, productive and environmentally friendly.

Completion of the course:

Course assessment is determined by achievement in four criteria:

  • Full attendance of all sessions
  • Key excercises undertaken during the course
  • Overall assessment by the course tutor
  • Written examination paper

Successful delegates will receive the SSSTS certificate awarded by the CITB, and be entered onto the CITB Construction Training Register.

The one-day refresher course (TWCTC-R) is designed to help those who have responsibility for managing all forms of temporary works on site. The course seeks to improve the knowledge of this role and the temporary works environment. Only learners who have completed TWCTC or the TWCTC refresher in the last five years are eligible to attend.
